Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, coordination, and posture. It is caused by an injury or abnormal development of the brain that occurs before, during, or shortly after birth, and the effects can vary widely from person to person. Individuals with cerebral palsy may experience challenges with walking, balance, strength, flexibility, fine motor skills, or daily activities, while others may have only mild movement difficulties. Although cerebral palsy is a lifelong condition, physiotherapy and other rehabilitation services can help improve mobility, functional abilities, participation in everyday activities, and overall quality of life by addressing each person's unique strengths, goals, and needs.
