Passive Range of Motion(ROM) Therapy
Passive Range of Motion (ROM) exercises are gentle movements performed by a physiotherapist or caregiver to move a joint through its available range when an individual is unable to do so independently. Neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and other complex neurological disorders can lead to weakness, paralysis, muscle stiffness, or reduced mobility. Passive ROM helps maintain joint flexibility, reduce stiffness, support circulation, and minimize the risk of contractures and secondary complications associated with prolonged immobility. As part of a comprehensive neurological rehabilitation program, passive range of motion exercises can help preserve comfort, promote joint health, and support an individual's ability to participate in daily activities and ongoing therapy.
