Trigger Point Dry Needling (IMS)
Trigger Point Dry Needling (IMS) is a specialized physiotherapy technique used to treat muscle tightness, pain, and movement restrictions associated with dysfunctional or overactive muscles. Individuals living with neurological conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain injury, or spinal cord injury may develop muscle tension, compensatory movement patterns, or chronic musculoskeletal pain that can interfere with mobility and daily activities. Using thin, sterile needles, the physiotherapist targets specific trigger points within the muscle to help release tension, improve blood flow, reduce pain, and restore more normal muscle function. As part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program, Trigger Point Dry Needling (IMS) may be combined with exercise, stretching, mobility training, and functional movement practice to improve comfort, enhance movement quality, and support greater participation in everyday activities.
