Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of physiotherapy designed to assess and treat dizziness, vertigo, balance impairments, and symptoms related to disorders of the vestibular system. Conditions such as vestibular neuritis, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), concussion, stroke, and other neurological disorders can affect the body's ability to maintain balance and spatial orientation, leading to dizziness, unsteadiness, and an increased risk of falls. Through a comprehensive assessment, the physiotherapist develops an individualized treatment program that may include balance training, gaze stabilization exercises, habituation exercises, positional maneuvers, and functional mobility training. By targeting the underlying causes of dizziness and balance dysfunction, vestibular rehabilitation can help reduce symptoms, improve stability, increase confidence with movement, and support greater participation in daily activities.
